Currently, we have several ongoing conservation projects (where the bank is accessible to foot traffic):
annual riverbank cleanup on the Blackberry River, from the Furnace on Lower Road to the US-7 Bridge. in North Canaan, CT
annual riverbank cleanup on the Housatonic River, from River Road in Falls Village, CT south to West Cornwall, CT
annual riverbank cleanup on the Housatonic River from the Covered bridge in Sharon, CT to the Concrete bridge on CT-4 in Cornwall Bridge, CT.
annual riverbank cleanup on the Housatonic River from North Kent Road to CT-341.
An annual riverbank cleanup on the Naugatuck River, from CT-4 to CT-118.
We are also engaged in Educational Projects:
A beginners Fly Fishing School for adults and supervised teens every April and an adjoining month, lasting six weeks.
In the Recreation Department, we hold a subsidized fishing trip to a premier fishing location, annually
Three or four fishing picnics on local waters
How much would you like to donate? As a contributor to NW Connecticut Trout Unlimited, we make sure your donation goes directly to supporting our programs. If you have thoughts or a request on which program(s) you'd like to support, please send us an email. Thank you for your generosity! If you donate $100 or more and we have your physical address, we will send you a form letter you can use for tax purposes. Northwestern Connecticut Trout Unlimited is a 501 C3 Non-Profit Organization and is recognized by the IRS as such. Your donation of $100 or more may be deductible at tax time.
